iOS 18.4 beta confirms Apple Intelligence launches in EU countries and supports more languages
The launch of Apple Intelligence can be called gradual. The entire list of announced functions has not yet been implemented, and they appear in portions with updates to the current version of iOS. And this is not the main thing, because depending on the location, Apple Intelligence functions may not be available in principle. For example, they are still not available in the countries of the European Union.
Specifically, Apple Intelligence works on Mac computers, but Apple's AI features are still not available on iPhones and iPads located in the EU or with corresponding regional accounts. This is due to the European Digital Markets Act (DMA) and regulatory differences between computers and mobile devices.
Now that Apple has begun rolling out the beta version of iOS 18.4 (and iPadOS 18.4), Apple Intelligence features are becoming available to users in the EU, 9to5Mac reports . At the same time, the AI is expanding its support for languages, which will include French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Korean, and Chinese (although Apple Intelligence is currently unavailable in China).
Those users who do not wish to experiment with beta versions of the operating system will have to wait for the release of iOS 18.4, which is scheduled for April.
Ukrainian users are a little luckier, and Apple Intelligence works in Ukraine. On the other hand, unfortunately, there is still no information about Ukrainian language support in AI functions.
