Apple to launch $350 home hub in spring 2026 — Bloomberg
Apple is preparing to introduce a home hub with a 7-inch display in the spring of 2026. The device will be manufactured in Vietnam and will cost about $350, Bloomberg reports.
The Home Hub was ready a year ago and was originally scheduled to be released in March 2026, but due to issues with improving Siri and implementing artificial intelligence features, the release was postponed. After that, the release was planned for June and October 2025, but Apple missed the deadline here too.
The new Siri, which will be the core of the home device, will allow users to ask questions, both when interacting with chatbots like ChatGPT or Gemini, and have greater control over actions in other apps. The hub will now have a FaceTime camera and a software interface that will be customized depending on who is using the device.
According to Bloomberg, the company has two versions of the device. The first is the J490. This is a version with a screen attached to a base with a speaker, reminiscent of the HomePod Mini with a display. The second version is the J491. It was created as a model for mounting on a wall.
In addition to the Home Hub, Apple is developing a surveillance camera codenamed J450, which, according to preliminary estimates, could appear by the end of 2026. Another home device will be a desktop robot. It will resemble the Home Hub display, but will be mounted on a motorized arm that allows the screen to be moved around the user's workspace or kitchen.
Apple plans for the desktop robot to cost a few hundred dollars, which is due to the cost of robotic components.
