The first MacBooks with the M5 chip will appear in late 2025 or early 2026 — Bloomberg
Apple is actively preparing to launch a new generation of MacBook laptops with the M5 processor. According to Bloomberg, the company has almost completed preparations for mass production of the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and two new monitors. All of these products are expected to go on sale between the end of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.
Apple originally planned to start production of the M5-powered MacBook Pro in the second half of 2025, launching it in the traditional fall, followed by a refreshed MacBook Air in the spring. But recent plans suggest the company could push the MacBook Pro launch to early 2026, changing its usual refresh cycle. This suggests that Apple is adjusting its strategies based on internal priorities and market readiness.
In addition to laptops, the company is working on a new generation of monitors. One of them is rumored to be an updated version of the Studio Display, which was released back in March 2022. The new model is expected to receive a screen with mini-LED technology, as well as noticeable improvements in brightness and color accuracy, which will make it interesting for professional users, including designers and video editors.
