Apple is preparing an updated version of the HomePod mini, which will receive a new processor based on the S-series chips used in the Apple Watch Series 9, 10, and the upcoming Series 11. MacRumors writes about this.

The company's code has found a reference to the T8310 chip in the HomePod mini with the codename B525, which likely corresponds to the next generation of the device.

The current HomePod mini runs on the S5 processor, but the new chip will be much faster: a 64-bit dual-core based on the A16 and with a 4-core Neural Engine. Whether Apple will call it the S9, S10 or S11 is not yet known, but it is logical to expect the S11, as in the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3.

In addition to the updated processor, rumors suggest that the HomePod mini 2 may get a new Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chip with Wi-Fi 6E support and new colors.

The presentation of the device is expected at the end of 2025.

Apple is also currently developing a Siri-enabled desktop robot companion. The prototype has a 7-inch iPad-like display mounted on a movable arc that can rotate and extend 6 inches in all directions.
