Apple's operating systems will feature a new "Games" app - a centralized hub for gamers

At WWDC 2025, Apple announced a new Games app that will be a centralized hub for gamers. It will bring together Game Center, App Store recommendations, your downloaded games library, and your friends list in one place.

The Home tab will allow users to view current game updates, special events, and new game recommendations. The Apple Arcade tab will show games available to subscribers, while the Library tab will contain all downloaded games.

One of the key new features is the Play Together tab, which lets you quickly see what your friends are playing. There's also a Challenges system, which turns single-player games into point-based competitions between friends.

Apple has also added a Game Overlay feature for iPad and Mac, which provides quick access to Game Center, your friends list, making it easy to start a chat, and game settings without having to leave the game. The app supports both portrait and landscape modes, and navigation is possible with a controller.

The Games app will be available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac and will be available this fall with new versions of Apple's operating systems.
