Apple integrates Anthropic's AI into Xcode to automate code writing

Apple will update its Xcode development environment to include generative AI features from Anthropic. The new platform for writing, editing, and testing code is planned to be used only internally at the company for now, Bloomberg reports.

The tool will be based on Claude Sonnet's language model, which has already proven itself well among developers in environments such as Cursor and Windsurf. Apple will use it to automate routine tasks for programmers.

The expansion of Xcode is part of the company's broader strategy to embrace AI. Apple has previously tapped OpenAI for Apple Intelligence features, and may add support for Google Gemini in the future.
