Anthropic has successfully closed a new funding round, raising $13 billion and raising its valuation to $183 billion, including previously raised funds. This makes the startup one of the most valuable in the world.

The round was led by Iconiq Capital, Fidelity Management and Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from GIC, Insight Partners and Qatar Investment Authority (QIA).

Anthropic initially planned to raise $5 billion, then increased its target to $10 billion, and ultimately reached $13 billion due to strong investor demand. The investment “confirms Anthropic’s unprecedented growth and solidifies its position as the leading AI platform for businesses, developers, and power users,” the company said.

Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, Anthropic positions itself as a safe and reliable company. Its chatbot Claude and technology are in demand among enterprises in finance, healthcare, and developers.

The company's annual revenue grew from $1 billion in early 2025 to over $5 billion in August, and the number of business customers reached 300,000. The Claude Code tool generates over $500 million in annual revenue, and its usage has increased 10-fold in three months.

Despite its success, Anthropic faces competition from OpenAI and Google, which are also developing AI coding tools. The company plans to use the new funds to meet enterprise demand, further security research, and expand internationally.
