Anthropic is launching a new Claude: Max subscription plan for $200 per month. It offers 20x the chatbot usage limits and priority access to the latest models and features.
The launch of the more expensive subscription is a response to the $200 ChatGPT Pro subscription. Just two months after introducing the new subscription, OpenAI told investors that its annual revenue had increased by $300 million.
Anthropic’s head of product, Scott White, told TechCrunch that the company is considering launching more expensive subscriptions in the future. It’s worth noting that Anthropic still doesn’t have the unlimited usage plan that OpenAI offers in ChatGPT Pro.
When asked if Anthropic was considering launching a $500 Claude plan, White said, “We’ll always keep a few exploratory options in the pipeline,” adding that user feedback will continue to shape Anthropic’s product roadmap.
To cover the huge costs of developing advanced AI models, Anthropic is exploring various new revenue channels, one of which is Claude for Education, which targets higher education students and educators.
