More than a million Anker PowerCore 10000 power banks, model A1263, are being recalled due to an issue with the lithium battery that leads to "overheating, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers."

According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC), Anker is recalling approximately 1,158,000 power banks in total. The company is taking this action following repeated reports of defects in the PowerCore 10000.

The USCPSC also reports that Anker has received 19 reports of fires and explosions, including two reports of minor burns that did not require medical attention and 11 reports of property damage totaling more than $60,700.

The product recall is only occurring in the US and affects power banks manufactured between January 1, 2016 and October 30, 2019, and sold between June 1, 2016 and December 31, 2022.

However, to make sure your power bank is not explosive, you can check its number on the bottom panel. The problems only occur with model A1263.
