Anker presented a raincoat with solar panels for charging electronic devices outdoors at the MWC 2025 exhibition in Barcelona.
As reported by CNET, this "solar" jacket from Anker can not only protect against the wind, but also charge gadgets via a 30W cable.
This raincoat resembles a rain jacket with a slippery surface, it is light to the touch and has a zipper. It is sewn with almost two dozen flexible perovskite solar cells that generate energy to charge gadgets. A cable with a 30-watt USB-C output can be connected to an external battery or directly to the device. "Imagine that your jacket can not only protect you from the wind, but also power electronics. And make you look like a Jedi," the publication said.

The authors of the material also noted that when worn, the solar panels feel like large glued patches - on the right arm and shoulder they have a triangular shape, so that it is easier to bend the elbow, and the panels on the front, left and back have a rectangular shape. The edge of the hood is framed by a strip with blue backlighting, which gives the clothing an unusual futuristic look, but can also be useful during night walks, making a person more visible to drivers. Such a "solar" jacket from Anker is still just a concept, so it is unclear whether it will ever be produced for the mass consumer.
Recall that recently at the CES 2025 consumer electronics exhibition in Las Vegas, the EcoFlow Power Hat was shown. It can charge up to two mobile gadgets simultaneously if you wear it outside for a long time.
