Hisense has found itself at the center of a class action lawsuit in the US over allegations of false advertising of its televisions, NotebookCheck reports, citing Top Class Actions.
The plaintiffs allege that Hisense misled consumers by claiming that certain TV models feature QLED technology, which improves brightness and color accuracy. However, the plaintiffs allege that these TVs either do not contain quantum dot technology at all or have it in such small amounts that it does not affect picture quality.
The lawsuit, filed in March 2025, covers the QD5, QD6, QD65, QD7, U7 and U7N series models. The plaintiffs accuse Hisense of unfair business practices and knowingly misleading customers. This is not the first time the company has faced legal trouble: in late 2024, it was accused of selling TVs with defective motherboards.
Despite the fact that Hisense TVs have been quite popular recently, scandals surrounding their quality and inappropriate marketing claims could negatively affect the company's reputation. If the court finds the company guilty, affected consumers could receive compensation or restitution. Hisense has not yet commented on the situation.
