In addition to new graphics cards, one of which will compete with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060, AMD also introduced processors to compete with Intel - the Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series on the Zen 5 architecture.

The main novelty is the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX with 96 cores and 192 threads, up to 384 MB of L3 cache and support for 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes. It is perfect for systems with multiple graphics cards. AMD also published test results, in which the PRO 9995WX is more than twice as fast as the Intel Xeon W9-3595X in some tasks.

All WX models support AMD PRO technologies, which provide enterprise-level security, manageability, and stability, simplifying the work of IT departments.

For enthusiasts and creators who don't need the 9995WX-level processing power, AMD offers other Threadripper 9000-series processors, including the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9980X with 64 cores and 128 threads with a base frequency of 3.2 GHz, the ability to overclock to 5.4 GHz (this capability is present in all chips presented) and 320 MB of L3 cache.

The entire new Ryzen Threadripper processor series will have a thermal design power (TDP) of 350W and will be compatible with existing sTR5 socket motherboards after a BIOS update.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9000 processors will go on sale in July 2025, while the PRO 9000 WX will go on sale in late 2025. The company has not yet disclosed their cost.
