Airbnb is expanding its list of available services: in addition to booking accommodation, the app will also allow you to book services and activities — both during your trip and separately. The list includes massages, personal training, cooking classes, excursions, art workshops and other leisure options.
The new services will appear in more than 1,000 cities in eight countries, but Airbnb has not yet revealed the full list of locations.
Some activities will be available on-site, while others will require a trip to the location. New to Airbnb Originals are unique events featuring celebrities, such as beach volleyball with an Olympic athlete or a baking workshop at a famous bakery.
The company is also updating its mobile app, adding separate tabs for accommodations, services, and activities, as well as expanded features for hosts. There will also be new social features — group chats between experience participants, photo sharing, and tips for the future.
The update also includes an AI assistant to help with customer support and travel planning. The new app has already started rolling out to users around the world.
