The use of artificial intelligence in the workplace is growing, but only in certain areas and with certain problems. In particular, employees of companies note that management is not doing enough to correctly implement new technologies, and artificial intelligence itself is often not considered truly useful, according to a Gallup survey.

According to the study, the use of artificial intelligence by American workers has almost doubled in the past two years, from 21% in 2023 to 40% in 2025. Frequent use, such as several times a week or more, has also increased, from 11% to 19%. Only 8% of respondents use AI on a daily basis, compared to 4% in 2023.

The largest users of AI are white-collar workers, non-physical workers working in government, programming, finance, sales, etc. 27% of white-collar workers frequently use AI, up 12% from 2024. The most popular industries include technology (50%), professional services (34%), and finance (32%). At the same time, the use of AI in manual labor and manufacturing decreased from 11% in 2023 to 9% in 2025.

Currently, the frequent use of artificial intelligence is noted among managers – 33%. However, the problem of management is that they cannot correctly implement new technologies for their subordinates. 44% of respondents say that their organization has started implementing AI, but only 22% noted that they do so with a clear plan or strategy. 30% say that they only have general recommendations.

While the use of artificial intelligence is growing, its benefits remain relatively small. Only 16% of respondents strongly agree that new technologies help them in their work. The majority of employees, whether due to a lack of a clear strategy or for other reasons, do not see much benefit from implementing AI.

In addition, workers are not yet worried that AI will take their jobs. Only 15% of respondents say that new technologies could somehow threaten their position over the next five years, the same as in previous years. By industry, those most worried about their jobs are in technology companies – 21%, retail – 21% and finance – 20%.
