Adobe releases Premiere for iPhone with AI tools, 4K HDR support, and content library
Adobe has launched a mobile version of Premiere for iPhone. This is the first release of the app, which the company announced in early September. An Android version is still in development.
The app is free and supports editing multiple tracks with video, music, text, and effects. Users can edit in 4K HDR, automatically create subtitles, adjust color, shadows, and noise. For videos shot on a smartphone, there is a function to quickly mute background sounds and amplify dialogue.
The mobile Premiere also received AI features based on the Firefly model, users will be able to:
- generate sound effects based on a text request or even humming;
- create images and stickers;
- Convert images to video for smooth transitions.
These features will be credit-based, but you can also use Adobe's stock library of photos, clips, and audio for free.
Projects created on iPhone can be transferred to desktop Premiere via Adobe Cloud. Reverse syncing — from PC to mobile app — is not yet supported.
Premiere's launch on iOS adds to the competition in the mobile video editing market, which already includes ByteDance's CapCut, Meta Edits, Captions, and InVideo. Adobe is expanding its mobile product line, which already includes Photoshop and a standalone Firefly app.
