System Shock 2 Remaster will be released on June 26, 2025

Nightdive and Sony have released a trailer for System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster. The game will be released on June 26, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

As the title suggests, this isn't a full-fledged remake like the first System Shock, which came out in 2023. The trailer shows off some minor visual improvements, but the overall look of the game still matches its age.

One of the main updates will be the interface and gamepad support. According to information on the Nightdive website and comments from the studio's moderator on the Discord server, the game will include some community-made mods for the original, as well as provide broader support for new mods. The Discord moderator claims that the remaster will be released with the SS2 or SCP community patch.
