IO Interactive showed gameplay of the new Bond game – 007 First Light
IO Interactive presented its new game 007 First Light at State of Play - an original story of the formation of James Bond, which will be released in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. The project is being developed in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and uses Glacier's own engine, known for the Hitman series.
007 First Light will feature Bond at the age of 26 - not yet 007, but a young naval pilot who, thanks to a risky move, ends up in the MI6 training program. Players will be treated to a story about becoming a spy with their own style and methods.
The game will feature dynamic gameplay with elements of combat, gunplay, stealth using spy gadgets, and chases on sleeper cars. The events will cover different corners of the world - from snowy mountains to tropical locations. The plot will feature classic characters from the series, including M, Q, and Moneypenny, as well as new characters, such as Bond's mentor Greenway.
On PS5 Pro, the game will receive improvements through PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology and Quality Mode with 60 FPS.
