Samsung's official online store periodically posts customer reviews describing their impressions of the company's technology. In one of them, a Ukrainian soldier shared a story after three weeks of using the Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone, which saved his life.

"During the shelling, a large fragment hit my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra directly. It pierced the screen, but got stuck in the strong titanium case and did not enter my body. The phone literally became armor between me and the wound," the serviceman wrote , adding a photo of the S25 Ultra with the screen pierced by the fragment.

Judging by the picture, the damage turned out to be quite serious, the processor and motherboard are located in the upper part of the S25 Ultra, and they could also have been hit by a blow. We became curious whether the serviceman had contacted a service center and whether it was possible to repair the Galaxy S25 Ultra after such damage, so we wrote to Samsung with a request. As it turned out, this particular smartphone is already in the company's service center, and it promises to repair it for free.

"We will repair his device free of charge as a token of our gratitude for his service and trust in the Samsung brand," the company said.

Stories of smartphones saving the lives of soldiers by stopping bullets or shrapnel periodically appear in the information space. But in this case, the good thing is that the device can be repaired and will continue to serve its owner. In the last few years, Samsung has paid more attention to the repairability of its smartphones, in particular, it has made it easier to replace batteries in flagship models. This was a response to new EU legislation, as well as the growing popularity of the "right to repair" movement, which requires manufacturers to provide instructions and tools for self-repair of devices.
