In May, the number of electric cars in Ukraine increased by 1,016 cars, which was the best result since the beginning of the year and 63% more than a year ago, according to Ukravtoprom. The share of new cars in this number was 28% against 11% last year.

The bulk of electric cars registered in May were 984 cars (287 new cars, 697 used cars). Compared to last year’s result of registration of passenger BEVs in May dramatically inctreased by almost 67 percent.

Of the 32 commercial electric vehicles that received Ukrainian license plates last month, there were no new ones. Compared to May 2021, the demand for commercial electric vehicles has not changed.

In just five months since the beginning of the year, 3,090 electric cars have passed their first registration in Ukraine, which is 2.5% more than in the same period of 2021. The share of used equipment in this amount is 80 percent.

The most popular electric cars on the Ukrainian market this year are:

Nissan Leaf. Since January to May 567 models received Ukrainian registration;
Tesla Model 3 – 263 registrations;
Volkswagen e-Golf – 156 registrations;
Volkswagen ID.4 – 138 registrations;
Dong Feng M-NV – 132 registrations in 5 months

RENAULT Kangoo Z.E remains the market leader in commercial electric vehicles with 77 registrations.
