Google is stopping sales of both Chromecast 4K and HD models with Google TV in its official store, 9to5Google reports.
They will now be replaced by the Google TV Streamer. During the presentation, the company said that Chromecast devices will remain on sale until supplies run out.
Officially, Google believes that people no longer need cheap set-top boxes, as even the most affordable TVs now offer basic Smart TV features.
The latest Chromecasts can still be found at third-party retailers, but they're also running out of stock. Meanwhile, the Chromecast Voice Remote with Google TV is currently not for sale at all, although there is an option to "Get Notifications."
Instead, it is suggested to purchase a voice remote for the Google TV Streamer, which will work with Chromecast, but will not support some features.
