US President Donald Trump is holding talks with China over TikTok as the United States seeks to mediate the sale of the popular app, Reuters reports.
The newly elected President of the United States told reporters on board Air Force One. Unfortunately, Trump did not disclose the details of the negotiations.
As a reminder, President Donald Trump signed a decree immediately after taking office that gave TikTok 75 days to find a solution. During this time, ByteDance has to sell TikTok to a US company or face a complete ban.
In January, Trump said that he would like the United States to get 50% of TikTok through a joint venture with other companies. He also initiated the creation of a US sovereign wealth fund that could participate in negotiations over TikTok.
By the way, TikTok has recently returned to the App Store and Play Store in the US after more than 25 days of absence.
