Five years ago, GoPro released the first camera capable of capturing 360 degrees around you. Today, this camera has received its first update, the GoPro MAX 360, which is more aimed at improving certain features than a major upgrade.
Externally, the camera hasn't changed much, with two ultra-wide-angle lenses on either side of the body and a small display. However, there is now a standard 1/4-20 mount on the bottom for use with tripods and other mounts.
Another nice bonus is the use of the new 1,600 mAh Enduro batteries, which should be able to withstand low temperatures better.
At the same time, the company has updated the capabilities of the GoPro Quik app, adding AI-Powered Object Tracking, Keyframing, CameraFx, Automatic Transitions, Single Clip Edits, and an updated Frame Grab Tool. Users of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects have the Reframe plug-in to process the footage.
GoPro Premium and Premium+ subscribers are provided with unlimited cloud storage space.
However, the update may disappoint fans of such cameras a bit, because the recording resolution has remained at 5.6K, while competitors can offer 8K. On the other hand, the price of the new version of GoPro MAX 360 is even lower than the previous one - $350.
