Nomad releases new USB-C keychain with 240W of power

Nomad has decided to re-release its popular ChargeKey accessory.

Nomad ChargeKey V2 is a keychain in the form of a USB-C cable. The original model debuted in 2023. The new version of the ChargeKey can charge devices with a power of up to 240 W, instead of 60 W. This means that users can now use the accessory even with a MacBook Pro.

The updated model is also more powerful in terms of data transfer: while the old ChargeKey was limited to USB 2.0 and 480 Mbps, the new cable allows data transfer at speeds up to 10 Gbps. Nomad notes that this is the maximum data transfer rate that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro can handle, making this cable ideal for connecting an external SSD.

Nomad did not make significant changes to the design of the new product. The body of the accessory is still covered with a zinc alloy and has built-in magnets to keep the ends of the cable together when not in use. The ChargeKey V2 is 12.6 cm long and has a nylon braided finish.

The Nomad ChargeKey V2 is already available on the manufacturer's website for $25 or €25.
