Murena, a French startup that creates products with a focus on privacy, has started selling the Pixel Tablet, which has completely removed all Google services. Instead, the tablet uses the /e/OS operating system.

As for the hardware, it's the same Pixel Tablet with a 10.95-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels, a Tensor G2 chip, 8 megapixel main and front cameras, 128 GB of storage, and 8 GB of RAM. The device costs €539.

What distinguishes the tablet from its usual version is the complete absence of any Google services. Murena offers an alternative app store, App Lounge, from which you can anonymously download all the free apps available on Google Play and F-Droid, but you will need a Google account to access paid apps.

Pixel Tablet and smartphones offered by Murena also offer an alternative to Office365 and Google Workspace, which, among other things, provides 1 GB of free cloud storage. Murena Workspace also includes an email client, calendar, and a suite of office apps. Importantly, the company claims that all these services are completely secure and do not collect any user data.

In addition to the Pixel Tablet, Murena also offers customers the Google-free Pixel 7 and 8 smartphone, the budget CMF Phone 1 from the Nothing sub-brand, and the Fairphone 4 and 5.
