A year ago, it became known that Ubisoft Singapore, the studio responsible for Skull and Bones, has been working on a remake of one of the most successful parts of the Assassin's Creed IV series since 2023: Black Flag. Judging by the latest information shared by mp1st, the update will not only be visual. Mechanics and gameplay elements have also been updated.

The remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is being created on the updated Anvil Engine. The studio has been using it for the franchise since the first Assassin's Creed game, but it is constantly updated. That's why Assassin's Creed Shadows, due out on March 20, is also based on it.

As for the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake, the latest information indicates the presence of new game systems, including combat mechanics and ecosystems around wildlife. The developers hope that these new systems, combined with the up-to-date graphics component, will make the game fully compliant with modern AAA projects.

There is no more specific data yet. The extremely successful Dead Space 2023 demonstrated that remakes can be of high quality and can offer much more than just an updated picture. We can only hope that Ubisoft will be able to do the same.

As for the release date, Insider Gaming previously reported that the game could be released in November 2025. In their material, they noted that they had already seen the gameplay of the remake, although for obvious reasons they could not share the footage.
