YouTube is testing a new Dream Track feature that will allow creators to use artificial intelligence to remix licensed songs in their Shorts. This was reported by The Verge.
Video creators will be able to change the “mood” of a song or genre with the help of text prompts. The maximum length of such tracks will be 30 seconds.
YouTube said that the Dream Track experiment allows creators to create songs using AI-generated voices of artists who have agreed to participate, including Charlie Puth, Charlie XCX, Demi Lovato, and John Legend. However, it is not yet known which labels’ songs are covered by this feature.
By the way, in June 2024, the Financial Times reported that YouTube approached major music labels with a proposal to use their songs to train AI models.
