Garmin plans to announce two new watch models. This was reported by Gadgets & Wearables.

We are talking about Garmin Fenix 8 microLED and Garmin Tactix 8 AMOLED. Fenix 8 could be the world’s first smartwatch to feature a microLED display. Compared to OLED, the screen technology promises significantly higher brightness with lower power consumption and a longer lifespan without burn-in problems, but at a much higher production cost.

Garmin prepares new versions of Fenix 8 and Tactix 8 for release

As for the Tactix 8, the model will have an AMOLED screen and will be available in two versions: 47 mm and 51 mm. The Tactix series comes with a number of “tactical” features. For example, with a built-in LED flashlight, a mode that makes the display readable with night vision, and a switch that erases all device data with the push of a button.

Unfortunately, there are no other details about Fenix 8 microLED and Tactix 8 AMOLED yet. It is also unknown when the new products will be released. Most likely, the models will debut by the end of 2024.
