Epic offers the best conditions for developers who create games on the Unreal Engine and place them in the Epic Games Store. This was reported by The Verge.

The company is reducing the royalty rate for games created on the Unreal Engine from 5% to 3.5%, provided that they are released on the Epic Games Store on the first day of release. The new terms will take effect on January 1, 2025 and will apply to games released this year.

Epic remains consistent in its policy of rewarding developers over players. The company states that the royalty reduction will be valid for each platform. That is, by placing a game in EGS, the developer will pay less royalties even from the console market.

As for iOS games, Epic does not require launching them in its store yet, due to the need for developers to incur additional costs, because of Apple’s policy.
