Ukrainian game Operation: Polygon Storm is now available on Steam
The single-player “linear” strategy game Operation: Polygon Storm from the Ukrainian studio Toxic Studio. The game is published by Polish Untold Tales.
Operation: Polygon Storm is a linear RTS in which troops of two sides attack from both sides of the screen, and the player must manage the approach of reinforcements, the choice of upgrades, and the use of special abilities.
Unlike many similar games that are set in a fantasy setting and use magic, Operation: Polygon Storm is a modern military game, with infantry, tanks, helicopters, air support, and missile attacks. Among the interesting gameplay elements is a system of shelters on the battlefield that can be destroyed. Among the players’ soldiers and equipment, it is easy to recognize the soldiers and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, while the AI opponent has Russian equipment.
According to the website Gamedev.DOU.ua, Toxic Studio is based in Kharkiv and consists of four people. The publisher Toxic Studio is helping with the porting of Operation: Polygon Storm to consoles. The game is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on August 26, 2024.
Operation: Polygon Storm has text localization in 9 languages, including Ukrainian. There is no Russian language in the game, although the game is sold in Russia with a 40% markup.
To celebrate the release, Operation: Polygon Storm is offered on Steam with a 20% discount for UAH 239. In addition, players can try the demo version of the game on Steam.
