Pavel Djundik, the creator of the SteamDB website, has found information in Wolfire Games' lawsuit against Valve that reveals the earnings of the company's employees. This was reported by The Verge.
Employee salary data has been available since 2003, a few years after Valve was founded in 1996. As of 2021, the company employed 336 people, divided into four categories: Admin, Games, Steam, and Hardware.
In 2021, Admin included 35 employees who were paid a total of $157,999,567. The Games department includes 181 people - these employees were paid a total of $192,355,985. Steam employs 79 people who were paid $76,446,633. And finally, the last department is Hardware, which employs 41 people and paid $17,706,376.
The Hardware department is relatively new, and information about it has been available only since 2011, unlike the others, which have been mentioned since 2003. It is likely that these are the employees who are developing Steam Deck.
