According to the plot of the film, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), a Formula 1 pilot who participated in races in the 1990s, got into a terrible accident, which forced him to retire from the sport and start competing in other disciplines. The owner of a Formula 1 team and friend of Hayes (Javier Bardem) contacts him and asks him to return to racing to mentor the rookie prodigy Joshua Pierce (Damson Idris) in the Apex Grand Prix (APXGP) team. I wonder how Sonny got his Super License after such a break!
The F1 movie was filmed during the real British Grand Prix, the Apex Grand Prix car was put on the starting line, and Brad Pitt and Damson Idris even participated in some Grand Prix events alongside Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and other real Formula 1 drivers. The trailer also features some of the team bosses of the 2023 season, such as Gunther Steiner, who has already retired from Formula 1.
