OpenAI to launch online store for custom versions of ChatGPT next week

OpenAI plans to launch an online store next week that will allow people to share their own versions of ChatGPT, reports Bloomberg.

Last November, during a developer conference, the company announced that users would be able to start creating GPTs – as it calls custom versions of ChatGPT – without having to learn coding.

With this option, users can quickly create chatbots that will teach a child math or come up with cocktail recipes, for example.

Initially, OpenAI stated that it would open a store in November so that people could find customized chatbots from other users and make money on their own.

However, OpenAI later postponed the launch of the online store until early 2024, citing a break due to the dismissal and reinstatement of Sam Altman.
