Stability AI announces paid membership for commercial use of its AI models

Stability AI now offers a subscription service that standardizes and changes the way its AI models are used commercially, writes The Verge.

There are three membership options. One is free for personal and research use. Another is a corporate subscription plan.

The third option costs $20 per month. It is intended for creators, developers, and startups with annual revenues of less than $1 million, institutional funding of $1 million, and 1 million active users.

All three offer early access to new AI models, but only members of the two paid tiers can use them for commercial purposes.

“As our company continues to mature and scale, the Stability AI Membership will play a pivotal role in funding our future research and development of core models,” the company explained.

By the way, in November, Stability AI officially presented a generative model for creating short videos called Stable Video Diffusion. It is based on the Stable Diffusion model for creating images using text prompts.
