Microsoft wants Game Pass to be available on “every screen you can play games on”

Microsoft wants Game Pass to be available on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and all screens where games can be played. This was stated by Xbox CFO Tim Stewart at the Wells Fargo TMT Summit.

According to GameSpot, Stewart said that Game Pass is a “high-margin” business for the company, along with its own games and advertising. Microsoft plans to significantly expand these areas in the near future.

“It’s a bit of a change of strategy. Not announcing anything broadly here, but our mission is to bring our first-party experiences [and] our subscription services to every screen that can play games,” Stuart said. “That means smart TVs, that means mobile devices, that means what we would have thought of as competitors in the past like PlayStation and Nintendo.”

The company has not yet taken any open steps to add Game Pass to Nintendo and Sony consoles, but they have clearly announced their plans, and perhaps in the future users will be able to play on all possible platforms with one subscription.
