Tim Cook wants the next Apple CEO to come from within the company

Apple CEO Tim Cook is confident that his successor will come from within the company and is working to offer the board of directors several options. He spoke about this in an interview with singer Dua Lipa for the Dua Lipa: At Your Service, writes AppleInsider.

In 2021, Tim Cook announced that he might leave Apple in the next ten years. At the time, it was also reported that the company had plans for the next CEO.

Any corporation would have such plans, but Apple has been repeatedly criticized for its secrecy in the search for Steve Jobs’ successor. And the company still does not speak publicly about Tim Cook’s replacement. But now the CEO has said that Apple is working on several succession plans.

“Now we’re a company that believes in working on succession plans,” he said, “and so we have very detailed succession plans.”

At the same time, Tim Cook did not name specific names. But he noted that there is more than one possibility.

“I really want the person to come from within Apple, the next CEO,” he continued, “And so that’s my role is to make sure that there’s several for the board to pick from.”

The Apple CEO also added that he likes the company and cannot imagine his life without it. So he plans to stay there for a while longer.
