Rebel Moon will receive a director’s cut with an 18+ rating

Zack Snyder, the director of Rebel Moon, said that the director’s cut of the film will be an hour longer and will have an 18+ age rating, writes Entertainment Weekly.

Both parts of the sci-fi space adventure will have director’s cut versions, and, according to the director himself, they will be much more violent. Also, according to Zack Snyder, an extra hour in the director’s cut will radically change some scenes.

In addition, Snyder also said that extended versions were planned from the very beginning, because such projects allow the director to show his vision in full, while giving the audience a choice of how they want to watch the film.

“This was the first time I had ever been able to make a movie and plan for that. The cut was not me fighting with them like, ‘Okay, you won’t do what I want. Can I at least release it on DVD?’ It was us going together,” Snyder says.

The first part of Rebel Moon, subtitled A Child of Fire, will premiere on Netflix on December 22, while the release date of the director’s cut has not yet been disclosed, but it will also appear on the streaming platform.
