Here he comes again. Overclocked Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX scores over 200K points in Cinebench R23
We don’t know about current successes in the field of workstations, but the new Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX has already earned overclockers’ favor. As it turned out, the 96-core flagship of the lineup has a remarkable frequency potential, so it was only a matter of time before enthusiasts became particularly interested. The recommended price tag of $9999 will surely limit the number of people willing to experiment with overclocking such CPUs, but it will be easier for recognized professionals to join the process.
Recently, the ElmorLabs team had the opportunity to test the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX in extreme conditions with liquid nitrogen cooling. Overclockers managed to increase the operating frequency of all cores to 6.2 GHz. Under such conditions, the processor exceeded the milestone, scoring 201,501 points in the Cinebench R23 test. For comparison, the top-end desktop Ryzen 9 7950X scores ~ 39,000 points here, and the Core i9-13900KS/14900K manages to get ~ 40,000 points.
During testing of the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX, the processor cooled down to -100C, while the chip’s power consumption at the time of rendering was about 1600W. Therefore, to power the ASUS Pro WS TRX50-SAGE WIFI overclockers had to use two Enermax Revolution ATX 3.0 1200W PSUs.
