Developers are outraged by Xbox’s intentions to use AI to create games
Earlier this week, Xbox announced a collaboration with Inward AI to create tools for game development. According to Decrypt, many game developers have expressed their dissatisfaction and concern with the company’s ideas.
The company plans to create AI-based tools that will help create scenarios, dialogues, and non-game characters for games, but industry workers believe that this is more of a threat to them than a help.
Screenwriter Mike Drucker wrote on his X (ex-Twitter) account that this could be an opportunity for gaming companies to lay off even more employees.
Screenwriters were the most dissatisfied. Many users wrote on social media that such AI tools existed only to take away their jobs and that the introduction of AI in general could worsen the quality of products.
Neither Microsoft nor Inward AI has yet commented on the situation.
