Microsoft officially announces historic $68.7 billion deal with Activision Blizzard
Microsoft has officially announced a merger with Activision Blizzard. The relevant information was made public by the head of the corporation’s gaming division, Phil Spencer, on the X platform.
“Today is a good day to play. We officially welcome Activision Blizzard King to Team Xbox. Together, we’ll create stories and experiences that bring players together, in a culture empowering everyone to do their best work and celebrate diverse perspectives,” he wrote.
Microsoft also published a more extensive commentary by Phil Spencer on the grand deal. According to him, the team will continue to listen to player feedback and create really interesting games.
“Today we start the work to bring beloved Activision, Blizzard, and King franchises to Game Pass and other platforms. We’ll share more about when you can expect to play in the coming months,” the head of Microsoft Gaming added.
He also promised a lot of new things for players and appealed to fans who love Activision, Blizzard, and King games.
“You are the heart and soul of these franchises, and we are honored to have you as part of our community,” he emphasized.
Microsoft’s intention to acquire Activision Blizzard was announced in early 2022. However, the deal worth $68.7 billion has raised concerns among regulators. The last of them, in the UK, ultimately approved the merger, and the deal became possible.
