Platform X introduces a new post format – no more link titles

The X platform has started removing headlines and text fragments from links posted by users, reports Engadget.

In this way, the social network is implementing the changes announced by Elon Musk in the summer. At the time, experts suggested that shortened links would encourage users to add short descriptions to posts on their own. And this, in turn, will encourage them to sign up for a premium subscription, where a message can contain up to 25 thousand characters.

Engadget tested the changes on X and published one of their texts on the platform. When viewed on iOS, only the image of the article with the URL superimposed on it appeared. But in the browser, the article is displayed with a fragment of text and a title.

By the way, in August of this year, Elon Musk also announced video and audio calls on the X platform, which will work on iOS, Android, Mac, and PC. However, it is not yet known when exactly the feature will be introduced.
