NASA wants to launch its own NASA streaming platform this year
NASA has set out to improve its digital platforms. To this end, the agency is updating its nasa.gov and science.nasa.gov sites and the NASA app.
“Our vision is to inspire humanity through a unified, world-class NASA web experience,” said Jeff Seaton, chief information officer at the agency’s headquarters in Washington. “NASA’s legacy footprint presents an opportunity to dramatically improve the user experience for the public we serve. Modernizing our main websites from a technology standpoint and streamlining how the public engages with our content online are critical first steps in making our agency’s information more accessible, discoverable, and secure.”
As part of these plans, the agency also announced the launch of its own NASA+ streaming platform this year. Its users will have access to the agency’s live reports and other videos. All of this will be free and ad-free.
NASA+ will be available on mobile devices through iOS and Android apps, streaming video players and on the web.
By the way, it was previously reported that NASA is developing a system, which will allow astronauts to perform maneuvers, conduct experiments, etc. using a natural language interface similar to ChatGPT.
