Pixel Watch 2 will get an aluminum case and an updated Fitbit application

A few months ago, we reported that the second-generation Pixel Watch should get Qualcomm’s W5+ Gen 1 chipset. It is expected that this will positively affect the battery life of the gadget, because the original smartwatch offers only up to 24 hours of operation from one charge.

Now new details about the device, which is expected to be announced in the fall, have appeared online. First, Google will use aluminum instead of stainless steel. This should reduce the weight of the watch. The first generation Google Watch weighs 36 grams without a strap. For comparison: the stainless steel version of the Apple Watch Series 8 (41 mm) weighs 42.3 grams against 32.2 grams for the aluminum version.

Second, the Pixel Watch 2 should get an updated Fitbit Coach app. It will offer a variety of sports workouts and other features that are part of the Fitbit Premium subscription.
