Xbox Live Gold is becoming a thing of the past, replaced by the new Xbox Game Pass Core service

Rumors about the “closure” of Xbox Live Gold started circulating a few hours before the announcement, but finally Microsoft officially confirmed: the paid service, which added new features to Xbox Live Free (online play, free game giveaways, etc.), is turning into Xbox Game Pass Core from September 14.

Therefore, Microsoft will offer 4 Game Pass plans to choose from, only one of which is PC Game Pass – officially available in Ukraine.

The new service will cost the same as Xbox Live Gold now ($9.99 per month or $59.99 per year), and all active users will be automatically upgraded to it. It will also offer exclusive discounts on the Xbox Store and access to online mode, but the free monthly Games with Gold giveaway will disappear from it, starting on September 1st, 2 weeks before launch (while players will still have access to all games previously received). Instead, Xbox Game Pass Core will feature a permanent catalog of games that will be replenished 2-3 times a year.

So, from September 14, subscribers of the new tariff will be able to play the following games:

  • Among Us
  • Descenders
  • Dishonored 2
  • Doom Eternal
  • Fable Anniversary
  • Fallout 4
  • Fallout 76
  • Forza Horizon 4
  • Gears 5
  • Grounded
  • Halo 5: Guardians
  • Halo Wars 2
  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
  • Human Fall Flat
  • Inside
  • Ori & The Will of the Wisps
  • Psychonauts 2
  • State of Decay 2
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
