Red Dead Redemption received a new rating in South Korea. A remaster?

As Gematsu writes, action/adventure Red Dead Redemption from the studio Rockstar San Diego received a new rating in South Korea. This may indicate preparation for the release of a remaster of the game.

The Game Rating and Administration Committee of South Korea published new rating for Red Dead Redemption that was submitted on 5 Jun 2023 and reviewed on 15 Jun 2023. The new rating has classification number CC-NV-230615-001. Usually in South Korea, NV classification numbers refer to console games, while NP refers to PC games, although having a console rating does not preclude the existence of a PC version, and vice versa.

As a reminder, Red Dead Redemption was released only on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in May 2010. A port of the game for PC or an updated version for modern platforms was never released. But after the success of Red Dead Redemption 2, rumors about a port of the first part of the game appear from time to time.

Ratings for the original PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare Collection (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) and GOTY Edition (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) already existed in Korea before the new rating.

Rockstar Games hasn’t announced an updated version of Red Dead Redemption, but the appearance of this rating may indicate that one is planned.
