Wonderwell: Carrie Fisher’s last film will finally be released
Seven years after the death of actress Carrie Fisher, her last film Wonderwell will be released in limited release. This is reported by Gizmodo.
The actress finished shooting this film just before returning to the role of General Leia in the film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The film Wonderwell is described as a “modern fairy tale”. The film will be distributed by Vertical, which acquired the rights to Vlad Marsavin’s directorial debut in North America and the UK/Ireland in a limited theatrical release. The film will be available in US theaters starting June 23. After that, it will be released digitally.
According to the plot, the story takes place between modern Italy and a fantasy kingdom. It shows the growing up of a girl named Violet, who lives with her parents and older sister, Savannah. While walking through the Tuscan town, Violet enters the forest, where she meets the mysterious Hazel. She takes the girl to a mysterious portal where Violet can see what the future holds for her.
The directors noted that they are dedicating the film to Carrie Fisher.
