Twitter is improving its direct messaging feature and announcing audio and video calls
Twitter will improve the direct messages function. For this, the platform started to launch updates of its applications for iOS and Android. This was reported by the company’s CEO Elon Musk, writes 9to5Mac.
According to him, the latest version of the application will allow users to reply to any message in the branch, not just the last one. Additionally, users will also have the option to select any emoji as a reaction.
In addition, Twitter will launch encrypted direct messages. This will be a big step forward when it comes to privacy, as the company does not have access to encrypted messages.
At the same time, Elon Musk added that the company is working on a new voice and video chat feature that will work similar to FaceTime. Users will be able to make calls on Twitter to communicate with people anywhere in the world without giving them their phone number.
As you know, Twitter allows users to chat live through Twitter Spaces. But such calls are public and intended for group chats.
Earlier, Elon Musk also reported that Twitter is going to purge from accounts that have been inactive for the past few years.
