Toloka – a Ukrainian autonomous underwater drone with a range of up to 2,000 km
Toloka unmanned torpedo drones are being developed in Ukraine. One of the prototypes was presented at the Brave1 exhibition. This was reported by Militarnyi.
Three versions of the autonomous torpedo are being developed: Toloka TLK 1000 (4-12 meters); TLK 400 (4-6 meters); TLK 150 (2.5 meters).
Toloka TLK 150 will have a range of 100 km and can carry up to 20-50 kg of explosives. TLK 400 will receive a warhead of 500 kg and will have a range of up to 1,200 km. The largest torpedo, the TLK 1000 will be able to hit targets at a range of up to 2,000 km and carry up to 5,000 kg of explosives.
This range will make it possible to hit targets at any point of the Black Sea in autonomous mode, even at Russian bases in Novorossiysk.
The guidance system uses GPS data or works with an inertial navigation system underwater or during signal jamming. Toloka can stay in standby mode for up to 3 months, and in case of jamming, the device can identify the jamming zone.
Automatic environmnent scanning is carried out by 3D sonar, hydrophone and camera. The torpedo identifies targets using video and thermal imaging cameras, the data is processed by a neural network.
We would like to remind you that in December 2022, the formation of the Ukrainian fleet of naval drones began. Since then, they have allegedly participated in several attacks on the Russian Navy base in Sevastopol [not confirmed by the Ukrainian military].
