Google Authenticator now syncs with your Google account
Google Authenticator is one of the best applications for two-factor authentication (2FA), but it used to have a rather significant caveat — the one-time passwords it generated were stored only on the device where it was installed. Accordingly, access to passwords was only from one device. This meant that if you lost access to the gadget, you also lost the ability to log in using it in services where Google Authenticator was used for this.
From now on, this problem has been solved, because Google Authenticator has been able to synchronize with your Google account. OTP passwords are copied to cloud storage, so you can now use Google Authenticator on multiple devices at the same time.
The new functionality is already available in the Google Authenticator app for Android and iOS. The update can also be noticed by the new icon of the application – it has been brought to the style of other Google services.
