Raja Koduri is leaving Intel
Raja Koduri, former head of Intel’s AXG division, is leaving Intel by the end of March. As part of the reorganization of the company, Intel decided to part ways with Raja Koduri, who was the executive vice president and chief architect. According to Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, Koduri will leave Intel by the end of this month.
Koduri worked at Apple and AMD, headed the Radeon Technologies Group and was involved in the development of GPU architectures such as Polaris. Shortly thereafter, he announced that he would be joining Intel and subsequently headed up the AXG division. Last December, Intel disbanded the group and returned Koduri to his previous role as chief architect.
Although the release of the Arc Alchemist series of GPUs was delayed by several months, Intel is not canceling its plans for discrete GPUs and is working on the Battlemage series of GPUs.
After a 6-year stint at Intel, Koduri seems set to focus on software by starting his own company. He promises to talk more about this topic in the coming weeks.
