Assetto Corsa 2 – a full-fledged sequel to the car simulator Assetto Corsa, released in 2014, has received an approximate release date.

According to the financial report of Digital Bros (parent company of developer Kunos Simulazioni and publisher 505 Games) for the second half of 2022, Assetto Corsa 2 is in development and scheduled for release in the spring of next year. This is a slight clarification of previous information released last spring, according to which the game’s “release window” extended to the whole of 2024.

Assetto Corsa 2 is scheduled for release in spring 2024

Also from this financial report covering the period from June to December 2022 (the first half of the Italian fiscal year), you can find out that as of the end of last year, the Assetto Corsa franchise sold a total circulation of more than 28 million copies, and its revenue exceeded €104 million. Regarding the reporting period, revenue from the sale of both games (the first part of Assetto Corsa and eSports-oriented Assetto Corsa Competizione) and all DLC for the second half of 2022 reached €12 million.

Little is known about the second part of Assetto Corsa so far: the developer and publisher have not yet released official screenshots, videos or developer diaries. From the interview of co-founder Kunos Simulazioni that GTPLANET took last year, we can learn that Assetto Corsa 2 will use a new engine of its own production – just like the first part (Assetto Corsa Competizione, let’s recall, was developed on Unreal Engine 4).
